Barney Marchand

Head Freshman Coach/ Freshman Offensive Line Coach

Coach Barney Marchand was born and raised in Rochester, NY where he played Division III Football and Lacrosse at the University of Rochester.  Barney graduated with a Bachelor of Science in History from the University of Rochester and moved to Georgia in 2000. Coach Marchand earned a second degree in Health and PE from Georgia State University. 

He has taught in Fulton County for 5 years, coached football at Alpharetta HS for 4 years and coached Lacrosse at Centennial and Roswell for 5 years.  Mr. Marchand and his wife Pamela have two children Megan (4) and Robert John (3 mos).

 

 

Wade Alexander

Freshman Offensive Coordinator/ Quarterbacks/ Receivers Coach

Coach Wade Alexander joins our Johns Creek High School Gridiron Staff with 31 years of coaching experience.

Mr. Alexander received his Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia State University.Wade later obtained his Master of Education from the University of Alabama. 

He coached at Ridgeview HS for 9 years, at Crestwood HS for 6 years and at Chattahoochee HS for 16 years.

Married to Lynn, three children Kristen(32), Wade, Jr.(30) and Elizabeth (27). One Grandchild, Mickey (2)

 

 

 Joey Matthews

Freshman Defensive Backs Coordinator / Offensive Line

Coach Joey Matthews joins Johns Creek High School from Chattahoochee High School where he coached JV Football, Varsity Wrestling and JV Tennis for 18 years from 1991- 2009.  Other responsibilities as Johns Creek will include his position as Physical Education Department Chairman.

Coach Matthews  attended Jacksonville State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1976 and later he acquired his Master of Science degree in 1978 at Jacksonville State University.  In 2003, Joey obtained an Educational Specialist degree at Lincoln Memorial University.

Coach Matthews is married to Cindy and has two daughters: Rebekah and Anna.
