Barney Marchand
GIRLS VARSITY HEAD COACH

Coach Barney Marchand returns for his third year as the Girls Head Basketball Coach for Johns Creek High School's 2011-2012 season.  Coach Marchand was born and raised in Rochester, New York.  He is an accomplished athlete having played college football and lacrosse at the University of Rochester.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in History from the University of Rochester and moved to Georgia in 2000 where he earned a second degree in Health and Physical Education from Georgia State University.


Coach Marchand has taught in Fulton County for 6 years.  He has coached football at Alpharetta High School for 4 years.  In addition, Coach Marchand has coached Lacrosse at Centennial and Roswell High Schools for 5 years.  Coach Marchand and his wife Pamela have two children: Megan (6) and Robert John (2).

 

 


 

 

Wade Alexander
GIRLS VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH

Coach Wade Alexander joins our Johns Creek High School basketball staff with 33 years of coaching experience.  Coach Alexander has coached at Ridgeview High School for 9 years, Crestwood High School for 6 years and  Chattahoochee High School for 16 years.  Coach Alexander has a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia State University and a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Alabama.  He is married to Lynn and they have three children: Kristen (33), Wade, Jr. (31) and Elizabeth (28) and two grandchildren.


 

 

Rebekah Sexton
GIRLS JUNIOR VARSITY HEAD COACH

Rebekah Sexton returns to JCHS as the Girls JV Head Coach for the 2011-2012 season.  Coach Rebekah Sexton grew up in New Hampshire with her parents and five siblings.  She attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School where she was a member of the varsity girls' basketball team.  Coach Sexton graduated from Husson College in Bangor, Maine in 2005 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and also played college ball with the women's basketball team.  Upon graduation, she was employed by Fulton County Schools and has taught grades 1 and 2 at Sweet Apple Elementary School for six years.  In addition to her teaching career, Coach Sexton has experience coaching multiple basketball levels including a 15U girls AAU team, as well as Roswell Recreation and Park teams.
