The girls teams put together a care package to JV Coach Jennifer Lee's brother in Afghanistan, but he was sent home before it could be sent. Coach Lee got the name and address of the unit replacing him and the care package was sent to them instead:
Hi Carol,
I recently received a package from the Johns Creek Varsity Tennis Team. It was great receiving it, and really nice to see your note. We always love getting mail here, especially care packages, regardless of who sends them! I definitely shared the snacks with the other guys here and we all enjoyed them. I spent about a week with Jennifer's brother Rich before we replaced his unit, and it was great getting to know him and his guys a little before they left. Our unit is doing well here so far. We recently moved from Tarin Kowt down South and we've been quite busy. We're making a difference here in our area, and it's exciting to be a part of that. Thanks so much for thinking of me and sending me the package. My mom teaches high school and she is out for the summer, so I am guessing by now you guys are probably done too. Hope you all had a good season. I actually played varsity tennis when I was in high school too, and I still like playing now but haven't played much recently. They don't have courts here in Afghanistan :) Thanks again for the package and your thoughts and prayers for me/us out here. I am attaching a picture of our unit here for you guys and a couple from us flying around out here.
